International Training Symposium: Innovative
Approaches to Justice WHERE JUSTICE & TREATMENT MEET
The International Association of Drug Treatment Courts (IADTC)
and the Canadian Association of Drug Treatment Court Professionals (CADTCP)
are pleased to announce the 6th International Training Symposium on Problem
Solving Courts and Innovative Approaches to Justice: Where Justice and
Treatment Meet, at the Hotel Saskatchewan Radisson Plaza, Regina, Saskatchewan,
from June 21-24, 2016.
This is a comprehensive international multidisciplinary symposium
on Problem Solving Courts and Innovative Approaches to Justice. Social
Problems such as drug addiction, substance abuse, mental illness, family
dysfunction and homelessness have resulted in recurring illegal behaviour
with deleterious consequences to society. This has led to the evolution
of Problem Solving or Solution Focused Courts.
The symposium will feature national and international experts
who will discuss several innovative approaches to justice and treatment
including the composition, method of operation, challenges, best practices
and outcomes in Problem Solving Courts such as Drug Treatment, Mental Health,
Aboriginal Programs, Youth Courts, Gang Violence, Domestic Violence and
